Our theatre school, classes and school holiday show weeks allow children to expand their theatre knowledge, performance skills as well as social skills whilst having fun doing what they love.
We create and instil confidence through performing arts to children from 4-16years. All are welcome and no previous experience is needed.
How it all started
Founded in 2012, Chimney Sweep Theatre Company began as a school holiday childcare provision, with a musical theatre twist. Within the first year, due to demand from parents, we launched our Saturday Theatre School and school based mid-week clubs. From there Chimney Sweep has grown further and we now offer:

Our personal approach to teaching and caring for the children makes us different from the rest. Whether children want to dip their toe in occasionally or fully submerge themselves, Chimney Sweep creates a family atmosphere and is a thriving social hub. Our creative teachers and staff are positive role models to the children who themselves still perform, write and direct. All staff hold an enhanced D.B.S. check
Through our connections and network, theatre experiences and work opportunities have arisen for Chimney Sweep children. For example performances in such venues as Theatre Royal Newcastle, Sage Gateshead, Mill Tyne Theatre & Miller Theatre to name but a few.
Some of our long term members have now started to assist in the teaching of activities and classes, as well as complete their Duke of Edinburgh accreditation with us.
